Boo!

Sorry, folks, I completely spaced on blogging the past couple of days.  It wasn’t like I was super busy, either, I just plain forgot.  ‘Cause I don’t care about you, obviously.

Not much is going on.  This week I’ve been good about eating well and not going out.  Today at the gym I’m doing my second weight training session of the week, and I’m committed to doing weights twice a week from now on.  This weekend I need to do a long run in order to progress towards the half marathon I’m running on Thanksgiving.  That’s about four weeks away, so I can do 10 miles and still be in good shape.  At this point I’m planning it for Sunday, unless by some chance I wake up tomorrow with extra energy.  Hey, it could happen!

So, it’s Halloween.  I’m not a big Halloween person.  I don’t like scary things, I don’t like to dress up, and I especially don’t like kids.  I’m pretty sure I was scarred as a young child when my mother refused to buy costumes for us, so she’d make us costumes that looked incredibly stupid, then we lived way out in the boonies so we had to drive somewhere to go trick-or-treating, then we weren’t allowed to eat candy so once we got home with our haul we could only look at it longingly and have one piece per day.  Yep.  We generally finished off the Halloween candy in April, and that’s not an exaggeration.  And now that I’m grown up and over that trauma, the holiday still involves not only children, but children who come up to the door!  No on both points.

Fortunately the Canadians are saving the rest of us from the horror and having a trick-or-treater avoidance party.  Usually we don’t get home from the gym until 8:00 pm and then go out to eat in order to avoid them, but since this year it’s on a Friday things are different.

Otherwise this weekend I need to go shopping for some necessaries and watch lots of TV.  Also on Sunday the last Formula 1 race of the season happens, which should be dramatic given that the championship isn’t sewn up tight.  It’s almost sewn up, but not quite.  You never know what’s going to happen.  Anyway, I’m looking forward to watching the race and also to the season being over.  Heh.

Happy Halloween, y’all!  Have a good weekend!
