50 questions for the people who are a little older. For people who like to take surveys (me) and who are older (also me). Taken Tuesday, 28 August 2007.
1. What bill do you hate paying the most?
All of them.
2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?
Romance is where you make it. Every dinner with my husband is romantic. You know, unless he’s being an ass. Heh.
3. What do you miss most from childhood?
Knowing what I want with a certainty.
4. If you could go back and change one thing what would it be?
I would have gone to grad school immediately following undergrad.
5. Name of your first grade teacher?
Hmph, I don’t remember! Mrs. Smith was my second grade teacher, then Mrs. Johnson for third grade.
6. What do you really want to be doing right now?’
Eating and drinking. As always.
7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A lawyer.
8. How many colleges did you attend?
What? “Colleges” implies undergraduate. I went to one college for undergrad and one university for graduate.
9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?
It was on top of the pile of clean clothes.
10. What are your thoughts on gas prices?
Much lower than they are in other countries where the government doesn’t protect prices. Look at the gas prices in Europe: it’s twice the price. People need to get a grip and just embrace alternative and renewable energy sources. Gotta be done at some point, just bite the bullet already.
11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you where would it be?
Boston.
12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?
I always wake up before it goes off. But every morning my first thought upon waking is: I should turn off my alarm so I don’t wake David.
13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
Thank goodness for air conditioning.
14. Favorite style of underwear?
Bikini in flesh color.
16. What errand/chore do you despise?
Laundry.
17. If you didn’t have to work, would you volunteer?
Yes. In fact, I do work, and I still volunteer.
18. Get up early or sleep In?
Get up early. Get stuff done.
19. What is your favorite cartoon character.
Um, I thought this was a survey for grown-ups?
20. Favorite thing to do at night with the opposite sex?
Sex. That is the point of this question, no?
21. Have you found real love yet?
Yes.
22. When did you first start feeling old?
When they changed the 508 area code to 978 and I was like, “But they JUST changed it to 508 from 617!” and my dad said, “you’re getting old.” Thanks, dad.
23. Favorite 80’s movie?
Pretty in Pink.
24. Your favorite lunch meat?
Lunch meat = processed disgustingness.
25. What do you get every time you go into Costco?
I boycott Costco.

Both!
27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?
No, but I think people treat it like it’s a casual situation. What’s outdated is a sense of responsibility for one’s own choices in our society.

Yes. Why?

Oh, please. I freely admit I watch the crappiest movies. I’ve seen every Jennifer Lopez movie, and there’s nary a good one in the bunch.

Of those I’m no longer in touch with? Umm, no one. The reunions cured me of that. Heh. Oooh, wait: Veysey!

NPR. Never off it!

Both!
38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?
I stayed in Ithaca after graduating from undergrad for a boy whom I thought I would be with forever. I should have moved elsewhere.
39. Do you like the person who sits directly across from you at work?
I have my own office. But the girl who sits at the front desk is really nice!
40. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
Madonna!
41. Indoors or Outdoors?
Indoors.
42. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?
Define “crash.” I’ve been in two bumps that caused enough damage to have repairs done. The last one was 10 years ago. Knock on wood.
43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its actual purpose?

The Small House at Allington by Anthony Trollope. For real.

Um, no.
46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?
I’m not sure. The Frankfurt airport.

San Francisco and/or wherever Amanda happens to be at the time.

No.

Career. Husband would be mad if I started a new relationship.
